About the Poet

Laynie Browne's books include Hereditary Zones (Boog Literature) One Constellation (Leave Books) and forthcoming are Pollen Memory (Tender Buttons) and Rebecca Letters (Kelsey Street). Her work appears recently in avec, The Washington Post, and is forthcoming in Conjunctions. Her work has been anthologized in Writing From the New Coast (o blek editions), The Gertrude Stein Awards In Innovative American Poetry (Sun & Moon), O Anthology # 4, and Curious Architectures (A collection of British and American prose poems, Stride Publications). For four years she coordinated readings at the Ear Inn in NYC. Her current manuscript in progress is titled The Agency of Wind. Other work in progress includes a poetic herbal, and a book length portrait of Hildegard of Bingen. She is a teacher of creative writing, herbal medicine, and composition.
