A series of intimate
concerts were held in the parlour room of a beautiful Bed
& Breakfast Inn in Flemington New Jersey, The Cabbage
Rose Inn. Free to guests of the Inn, the concerts were open
to the public and often drew sellout audiences. All of the
concerts were different, and some drew repeat visitors who
loved the very personal format where they had the
opportunity to talk about the music with the performer and
hear the songs & music of the Scottish Highlands &
Islands as it was originally played - in the company of
friends.

The best part of all!! An
intermission break with coffee, tea and sweets, when the
guests could chat with one another and with the musicians,
sharing stories, memories of travel experiences, discovering
mutual acquaintances.

Featuring Celtic Harpist
Barbara Duhl-Emswiler, the music included Celtic traditional
music, newly composed music in the same styles, and original
music, and incorporated some of the stories of the music or
the composer or the places related to the music. One of the
concerts also included several duets with a Scottish
fiddler.

You don't need a B&B, although if you have one
they're great places for concerts. This format works well
for house concerts too, either private or open by
announcement. I can help you with the publicity and
promotion. What about a Valentine's Day concert or St.
Patrick's Day or Christmas? Christmas carols are beautiful
on the harp. Let's plan something together.
