I have great respect for Meriweather Lewis , who had great respect for the Grizzly Bear. I guess that establishes the pecking order!
Lewis encounted a Grizzly near the present city of Great Falls, Montana. Now the Grizzlies are in the mountains. I saw my first one at Granite Park Chalet in Glacier National Park.
Most think of
Yellowstone when bears are mentioned.

W. W. Hofmann claims "You honestly have a better chance of being struck by
lighting than suffering from a bear attack." Well, I've suvived that, and
I am careful in bear country. I hope you will be also.
