to solve the world's environmental and social problems?

Annual world expense for war and preparation for war is 1 Trillion dollars.
Each square equals 1/10 of 1 percent, or one billion dollars.

If the population continues to grow and the per person use of resources continues to increase, the situation will become more unstable, requiring even more money for "defense".

Would it be a better defense to spend some of this money solving real problems?
