Odd Notes
There are 3 major infinity variants that I maintain:
- Infinity - Vanilla infinity;
This is the most advanced infinity that I have,
featuring sickness, various inventory items,
mining, lots of monsters, GTK+ and ncurses support,
and various other nifty things.
- Procedural Infinity - Research infinity;
I learned about procedural world generation, and
discovered that Infinity isn't really infinite.
Why? Because it's limited by the amount of RAM in
your computer...
There are ways of making TRULY infinite games...
(Well, bounded by the addressing space of an integer...)
Later Note: Procedural Infinity was lost when I dropped
my laptop on the freeway (long story).
However,
the spirit of Procedural Infinity lives on in
Infinity's successor, Infinity 2..!
- Action Infinity - Much neglected;
Based on the premise that you can make an exciting
rogue-like game. Features hand grenades. On the
to-do list are things like semiautomatic weaponry
and flamethrowers. No GTK+ support.
The download above is "vanilla" infinity.
Lost in my many versions of infinity
(Ted Nelson would have a heart attack)
is a holy boy who plays the flute
and places diamonds on the ground for you.
My mission is to find him,
and stick him into vanilla infinity.
Now which machine is he on...
All of this is a mere prelude and research for a game
that I have been planning in my head for years
that takes place under the
Harvey Mudd
sub-basement ("B2").
