Herman Presida has raised 12 children at Long Beach, near Monkey Point. Like most of his neighbors, he farms a little of everything and fishes.
Herman Presida [surf in background]
Yeah, I fish shark.
Interviewer
Where do you sell it?
Herman Presida
I sell to Bluefields.
Interviewer
Has anybody ever been hurt by a shark?
Herman Presida
Well, people around here, there are several people been hurt by sharks. Boat fell over and shark eat them.
Narrator
Presida says he's concerned about the side effects of the proposed port.
Herman Presida
Well, I don't know, but I think it will be a little affect to the place, because now the fish will not take that thing is cut out. We don't have what to live off of then after that. We don't know what we live off and the canal coming. There won't be no more fishing, I guess, no? No more shrimp, no more sharks, there won't be no more left around here with that coming.
