View more pictures in the Photo Gallery The Subtext reading series is a collaborative effort by Seattle-area writers and readers interested in new writing. July 2007 marks the thirteenth anniversary of the Subtext reading series. We enjoyed cake when the series turned ten a few years back. Each month Subtext pairs established and emerging experimental writers from around the country with a Pacific Northwest writer and puts them in front of a Seattle audience. The reading series is held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30, at the Richard Hugo House located at 1634 11th Ave on Capitol Hill in Seattle. There is a $5 suggested donation. PLEASE NOTE that the last Subtext reading at Hugo House will be in May 2007. We're moving to the Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center in Wallingford starting in June. Subtext is very much looking forward to working with our new hosts, Nonsequitur, a presenter of new and experimental music. The Good Shepherd Center is located at 4649 Sunnyside Avenue N (just south of 50th St.). More information on directions, parking, buses, and access can be found on-line.
