Although I have always been interested in family history, only recently have I begun a serious search for my ancestors. Musty, dusty libraries and microfiche records are wonderful resources, but computers and the Internet as a means of research and communication are probably the best tools for genealogists to come along in a long while.
Tracing one's family history backward for several centuries can be a lonely occupation. But here on the Internet are hundreds of resources and, perhaps more importantly, hundreds of people doing the same. And these wonderful people are always willing to share their information and to delight in finding yet another "cousin" in someone's family tree.
I've always thought that collectors -- of glass, pottery, china, ephemera, you name it! -- are among the world's most generous and warm-hearted people. Now I'm happy to affirm that genealogy buffs, as collectors of people and their history, belong in this elite group, too.
Please wander through the information I've collected so far; if you have questions or comments or would like to share additional resources, please E-mail My Glass Duchess.
