~ ~ ~ THE KING FAMILY ~ ~ ~

In response to several requests, I am providing an outline of the first five generations of the King Family, which originated in England, immigrated in 1635 to Salem, Massachusetts, and settled about 1650 in Southold, Long Island, New York. As time permits I will expand this outline, based upon information contained in "East Hampton History" by Jeanette Edwards Rattray (1953). The generational numbers correspond to those in this book. My line descends: William King(e), William 1, Samuel 2, William 3, William 4, William 5, Richard 6, Richard 7, (Benjamin) Gilbert 8, Emma Sidenia 9 (my great-grandmother).
